The first coat of a glue-down vinyl floor, MSI LVT Concrete Primer MS003 is a water-based acrylic primer rolled or sprayed over concrete, flooring-grade plywood, patch and gypsum-based substrates before an MSI adhesive goes down. It seals dry, porous surfaces so the adhesive spreads further and bonds evenly, and it shields the adhesive from the alkalinity of concrete.
One coat does it: 350 to 400 square feet per gallon with a 3/8 inch nap roller or 400 to 500 with a sprayer, dry in about four hours, with zero calculated VOC and ultra-low odor for occupied buildings. MSI designs and warrants it for use with its own adhesives, over concrete up to 85 percent relative humidity. It is not a moisture sealer and does not encapsulate old cutback residue.
