Flooring Coverage Calculator
Enter each room and this works out the square footage you need, the waste your install pattern costs you, and how many boxes that comes to. Measure at the widest point of each room, including closets and doorway returns.
What are you covering?
Add a row for every room. Measure wall to wall at the widest point.
Straight lay wastes about a tenth in offcuts. Diagonal and herringbone patterns cut more, so allow fifteen. Rooms with many angles run higher.
An estimate, not a quote. Confirm final quantities with our team before ordering. Keep at least one spare box for repairs.
Measure each room
Width by length, wall to wall, at the widest point. Include closets and the return into each doorway, since the floor runs through them.
Allow for waste
Every install loses material to cuts at the walls. A straight lay costs about ten percent, a diagonal or herringbone pattern nearer fifteen.
Round up to boxes
Flooring ships by the box, so the total is rounded up. The leftover is worth keeping: a spare plank is the cheapest repair you will ever make.
