Countertop Calculator

Square footage for the tops, worked out from the run, depth and backsplash. Slabs are quoted against the actual stone, so the result travels with your quote request.

The tops

What are you fabricating?

Total the counter run in linear feet; depth and backsplash in inches.

Total counter run (linear ft)
Counter depth (in)
Backsplash height (in)
Seams and waste

Ten percent covers seams and edge returns. Sink and hob cutouts, waterfalls and mitred edges push it to fifteen.

You will need

A quote request, not a quote. Slab count and yield are confirmed at template against the actual stone.

How it works
1

Measure the run

Total every counter section in linear feet along the wall. Depth is the counter's front-to-back measurement, twenty-five inches on a standard base.

2

Add the backsplash

The splash is cut from the same material, so its height times the run joins the area. Set it to zero for a tiled splash.

3

The stone answers back

Slabs vary between lots in size, veining and usable yield, so the count is confirmed against the actual slabs. This sheet travels with your quote request.

COUNTERTOPS QUESTIONS

The questions our counter answers most, before the first order ships.

Talk to Our Team
Why does this end at a quote request and not a cart?+
Because slabs are not interchangeable. Two slabs of the same colour differ in veining and yield, and the fabricator plans the cuts around the actual stone, not an average.
What is a normal counter depth?+
Twenty-five inches over a standard twenty-four inch base cabinet, giving a one inch overhang. Islands and bars run deeper, so measure yours rather than assuming.
How much waste should I allow?+
Ten percent for a straight run with a seam or two. Cutouts for sinks and hobs, waterfall ends and mitred edges each eat more stone, so allow fifteen.
Does the backsplash have to match?+
No. Set it to zero if you are tiling the splash. If it does match, it comes off the same slabs and the area needs counting here.
