Original Touch is a residential broadloom carpet built from high-quality PET fiber, each strand produced through Mohawk's patented Continuum® process, which converts recycled plastic bottles into durable, consistent fiber. The result is a surface with inherent stain resistance and lasting structural integrity across heavy-use residential applications.

Available in 20 colors, the collection spans a range of tones suited to living rooms, bedrooms, and hallways alike. Professional installation is recommended. The fiber performs without topical treatments, holding its appearance through daily wear.

What do face weight and fiber tell me?

Higher face weight and nylon fiber generally mean more durability and resilience, while polyester offers softness and value. Twist level and density also signal how well a carpet holds up in busy rooms.

Do I need a separate pad?

Yes. The right cushion improves comfort, insulation, and lifespan, and many warranties require a pad of a set density. We can spec the correct pad to pair with your carpet.

How is carpet measured and seamed?

Carpet is sold by the square foot or yard and comes on rolls, usually 12 feet wide, so seams are planned around the room. Share your dimensions and we will map the layout and waste for you.

Is it good for stairs and high traffic?

For stairs and busy areas, choose a higher twist nylon with good density. Many styles are rated for heavy traffic, and the spec above notes where each one performs best.
