Garrison Collection: Engineered Hardwood, Collection by Collection

American-made by Old Master Products and built around European Oak, Garrison Collection is engineered hardwood designed for the way rooms are actually lived in: wide planks, long boards, and a factory finish that holds up. Across thirteen collections, it spans the budget-minded build to the showpiece floor, and all of it is engineered for stability where solid wood struggles. Here is how the line is built, how the collections differ, and how to choose the right one.
What "engineered" actually means
An engineered hardwood plank is real wood over a multi-ply substrate. Garrison bonds a genuine hardwood wear layer, 4mm on its core collections, to a plywood base, then micro-bevels the edges and seals the surface with an aluminum-oxide factory finish. That construction matters for two reasons. The plywood substrate resists the expansion and contraction that makes wide solid planks cup and gap, so Garrison can offer 7.5-inch, 9.5-inch, and 10.25-inch widths that read clean in open rooms. And the aluminum-oxide finish arrives cured from the factory, harder and more scratch-resistant than a site finish, ready to walk on the day it is installed.
The thirteen collections, by character
Signature. The widest planks and the most refined visuals. Legends runs up to 10.25 inches in European Oak and Walnut with nuanced, designer-driven colors. Beverly Hills is 9.5-inch European Oak in a tailored, neutral-forward palette. Gold Label rounds out the top tier for rooms that lead with the floor.
Everyday refined. The heart of the line. Crystal Valley and Crystal Valley America offer Oak and Maple in approachable widths. Newport brings 7.5-inch European Oak at a friendlier number. Carolina Classic leans into Hickory's natural movement, and Garrison II, in Distressed and Smooth, gives you texture or a clean face in Oak, Maple, and Birch.
Value. When budget leads without giving up real wood. Competition Buster and Contractor's Choice keep engineered hardwood within reach for whole-home and rental projects.
Specialty. Exotics and Private Selection are for the floor that should not look like anyone else's, distinctive species and treatments for a deliberate statement.
How to choose
Start with the room. Wide, open spaces carry the 9.5-inch and 10.25-inch planks beautifully; tighter rooms and corridors stay balanced at 7.5 inches. Then the species: European Oak for a calm, contemporary grain, Hickory for high contrast and movement, Maple for a smooth even tone, Walnut for warmth and depth. Finally the texture, smooth for a clean modern read, distressed or wire-brushed to hide wear and add character. When two colors are close, order the $4.95 samples and see them in your own light.
Built to last
The aluminum-oxide finish is the workhorse: it resists scratching and everyday wear, and it is backed by Garrison's limited-lifetime structural warranty on engineered construction. Care is simple, a soft broom or vacuum and a damp, manufacturer-approved cleaner, no wax, no steam. Treated that way, a Garrison floor holds its finish for years.
